When asked what my friends do for physical exercise, I started listing off The Girls .. ie. the girls I work with, one of whom is my boss. And then I was promptly reminded that the question was about my friends, not my boss or coworkers.

And then I realized it .. all my friends-friends no longer live in town.

So what is holding me to this city? I used to think it was the people – but who cares if I know bartenders or squash pros or other random people? The only thing left in this city is my fantastic but super-busy-and-super-married friend K, and the Hockey Player BF.

Yeah, okay – so my best friend since I was 13 is also still here – and while we talk a lot, we don’t see each other very often due to differing schedules. So really, in town or out of town, it’s the same with her.

But I also just started this new job in September .. I think I owe them a year before ditching. Hmm.
